iPhones are more of a status symbol than the utility. It's because Apple only makes & want to make quality products. It makes the best design with very very deep integration of hardware & software seamlessly & gives u a feel as if it is a once singular device rather a combination of hardware & software. It provides you with the quality software iOS or Mac OS or anything else it is the worlds most optimized secure fastest & deeply integrated software & even d hardware is also very refined & premium with sapphire crystal in cameras, Touch ID & edges shafted with diamond with a feather touch screen & recyclable materials except the poor casing…
Yes, Definitely Apple Phones are more secured. Apple doesn't share user data with data analysis companies and so. But Google never did any harm to anyone by sharing user data.

Justifications:
  1. Focused market. They don't create the iPhone or Mac book for everyone. They target an explicit section of the market that will afford the high price.
  2. No competition - that means there is no alternative company creating a device with iOS. Apple products are unique in that sense.
  3. Brand value - yes, they create premium products and have been extremely successful in marketing them that way, to the point that anything they do (even if the competition had already implemented it a few years back) is seen as revolutionary.
  4. Heavy investment in R&D, with a focus primarily on security - they have to recover the costs and also fund future investments.
  5. Ecosystem - Apple products or merchandise work well among themselves, creating the ecosystem with a great ownership experience.
  6. Optimization - Apple doesn't hurry in bringing new technology to the market unless they have done thorough research on it to justify its introduction. For e.g, Astilpple company still has low profile LCD displays which can't match with the SuperAMOLED displays found on Samsung devices - this is primarily because the battery usage is far lower on the LCD displays. That's why iPhones have a name of getting long-lasting batteries.
so, as far as the user is concerned, he is getting little for the huge premium that he is paying, making Apple products expensive and overpriced.
So, to close this answer, I 'd say, Apple phones are expensive because they are supposed to be.
